College Football: Stanford University v Rice University
 
TLA Worldwide and TEG Live, alongside the NSW Government, have today announced that College Football will return to Sydney after the success of the 2016 College Football Sydney Cup. 2017 will see College Football powerhouse, Stanford University (Stanford Cardinal), take on Rice University (Rice Owls) in what will be a hotly contested affair at Allianz Stadium on Sunday 27 August. 
 
The Stanford Cardinal football program, representing Stanford University in the Pacific 12 Conference, has a decorated history with 15 conference and two NCAA national titles in their record books. Stanford University has produced some of not only the greatest NFL athletes of all time, such as John Elway, but currently have 35 players in the NFL who are products of the Stanford Cardinal system, including Seattle Seahawks livewire and Super Bowl Champion, Richard Sherman and Indianapolis Colts Quarterback, Andrew Luck. 
 
While the Rice University Owls, based out of Houston, Texas, also compete in Division One of the NCAA tournament but in the West Division. In addition to producing a number of current and former NFL players, Rice University is well known as the school where John Heisman was Head Coach for 35 years, who the trophy for College Football’s most outstanding player is named after.
